Museum de Locht collects and exhibits objects related to occupations, crafts and culture of North Limburg from earlier times.
There is special attention for the cultivation of asparagus and mushrooms in the traditional agricultural sector.
Almost every Sunday there are special activities: demonstration of old crafts, among others, making syrup, baking bread, brewing beer, smiths at work and so much more…
These activities make a visit to this museum a special experience.
The museum is located in a characteristic farmhouse from 1859. The farmhouse is traditionally furnished and in the stables authentic farm tools can be seen.
There are also temporary expositions like “mobility in past, present and future” about the means of transport over the years.
At the moment there is also an exposition about clocks of Limburg’s clock maker Jean Wilmar.
Further, the exposition “From legend to public use” shows popular uses and traditions from the North Limburg region.
