In the city center of Maastricht you will find the Museum of Natural History (Natuurhistorisch Museum). It is a great place for kids to to learn about the natural world around us.

This educational museum has a collection of more than 550.000 objects. These are objects in the field of geology, palaeontology, flora and founa of South-Limburg. The collections consists of over 11,000 species, including more than 1000 type specimens.
Part of the collections is presented in aquaria and terrariums.

Hadrosaurus & Masasaurus.

The museum is internationally known for a number of important fossiles from the Cretaceous Period.
Amoung the show pieces of the museum are a a reconstruction of a nearly 5 meter high Hadrosaurus and a recontruction of a Masasaurus, a 12 meter giant lizard.
